Data stored by the app

Packett stores the information you create so the app can work and keep your work between launches. This can include item names and dimensions, item photos, custom box details, packing selections, and saved Packett plans. This information is stored in the app’s private storage on your device.

Data we do not collect

Packett does not send your data to us or to third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not receive your item records, photos, camera frames, packing plans, device identifiers, location, or usage history from the app.

In this policy, “collect” means transmitting data off your device so Packett or a third party can access it. Data that remains only on your device is not collected by Packett.

Photos and camera measurement

When you choose a product photo, Packett creates a private app copy for display with your item. The original remains in your photo library and is not changed by Packett.

Camera-assisted measurement is processed on the device. Packett saves the dimensions you confirm; it does not retain or transmit live camera video, depth data, point clouds, or raw measurement sessions.

Backups and moving to another device

Your operating system may include Packett’s database and private media files in device backup or transfer services that you enable, such as Quick Start, iCloud Backup, or a Finder backup. Those services are provided and controlled by Apple under your Apple settings and Apple’s terms. Packett does not operate or access those backups.

You can also choose Export backup in Packett to create a portable file containing your items, boxes, saved Packett plans, settings, and private item photos. The file leaves Packett only when you choose a destination in Apple’s share sheet. Packett does not upload, receive, or retain a copy of the exported file.

A portable backup is not password-protected. Store and share it as private content, and delete copies you no longer need. Import backup validates the selected file and asks for confirmation before replacing the Packett data currently on that device.

Deleting your data

You can permanently delete items, custom boxes, and saved Packett plans inside the app. Packett removes the selected local records and cleans up private media files when they are no longer used by another record. Copies in device backups may remain until the backup provider replaces or deletes them according to its own retention rules. Portable backup files remain wherever you chose to save or share them until you delete those copies.

Permissions

Packett asks for camera access only when you choose camera-assisted measurement. Photo selection is initiated by you through Apple’s system photo picker. You can review camera access in iOS Settings at any time.

Children’s privacy

Packett is a general-purpose packing utility and is not directed to children. Because the app does not transmit personal data to us, we do not knowingly collect personal data from children through the app.

Changes to this policy

If Packett’s data practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated before the changed version is released.
